Wrote a book. Want BCP members to have a crack at it.

Well after a much longer than anticipated time, my very first book is available on Amazon.com! The story is about a retired airline pilot and his adventures flying his Husky with his Border Collie, Bella. The idea for the story came from so many BCPer's accounts of flying with their furry companions.

The story is called, On Bella's Wings, and is currently on Amazon.com as an eBook. Since the BCP community was the inspiration for the story, I wanted to let you get a chance to read it. On Bella's Wings will be available free through tomorrow night. If the weather is as bad in your area as it is in the DFW area, maybe this will give you something to do over Memorial day. If you were to leave a few positive comments on Amazon after you read it, that would be cool too. 8)

Hope you enjoy!

Jeff,

As a fellow Husky owner/flyer I look forward to reading your book!

I really like the cover!

Which airline? Where do you base your Husky?

A1Skinner- Yes the book should be free on the .ca amazon as well. http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00Y3I8AAM

G44- I'm a C-130 guy for work and own a Cessna 170, for pleasure based out of Hicks airfield in Fort Worth (T67). No real ties to a Husky other than I have always liked their lines, so I decided to use one for this story. Hope you enjoy.

I just lost my pup to cancer after 14.5 yrs. I'll download it but will probably have to read it later after my tender heart toughens up a bit.

So sorry. I know how tough that is--been there, done that, will undoubtedly do it again. Last time I had to close the office for a week. It's tough--and sometimes the lack of compassion from others makes it tougher. There's a great program at the CSU Veterinary Center called the Argus Institute, which among other things provides counseling for people who have lost their furry friends and are having trouble dealing with their grief.

Thanks so much for making this available. I have not had time to do much recreational reading, but was curious and enjoyed it very much.

Keep writing and it was neat to be able to read from my kindle. Makes me want to get a tail wheel rating. They do have flaps right? :)

Thanks again,
Richard

Wrote a book. Want BCP members to have a crack at it.

Jeffrey,

I am an avid reader... Mostly Sy-Fy and Fantasy... I really enjoyed this book..

I want to let you know that I was pleasantly surprised on how well your book is written... The story kept my attention to the very end and the characters were easy to visualize... Your attention to detail was perfect.. Just enough to keep the reader interested but not too much info that would put someone off the page... Well done sir, I look forward to your next work..

Brian..

Re: Wrote a book. Want BCP members to have a crack at it.

A great book so far. I've only gotten thru chapter 10 but I like it. I did find one grammatical error you may want to correct. I can't tell you what page it is on as the bottom of the page says "Location 612" rather than a page number. However, it is Chapter 9 where Dwayne is in Sisson's store. Dwayne asks Mr. Sission how things are going and Mr. Sisson replies, " Up days and down days. I think more days are up THEN down." It should read "... more days are up THAN down." THEN describes a series of events i.e. this THEN that. THAN describes a comparison i.e. more up THAN down.

I'm loving the story. Thanks for writing it.

Re: Wrote a book. Want BCP members to have a crack at it.

I finished your book. What a great story. I have to admit I had to wait a few minutes before writing this as my eyes needed some time to clear up. Is it misting at my desk?

So, one last item. Chapter 15 (location 1211), I believe there is a misspelling of Dwayne. The sentence in question reads, "Dwain (I think you meant Dwayne) cut two more long lengths of fabric from the sleeping bag and fashioned a sling".

A great book, great story. Keep it up.

Thanks for a great read! I can greatly appreciate the sentiments many (including myself) have regarding the story. It hits even closer to home, especially with recent events having occurred to members of the BCP family.

Keep up the good work; looking forward to the next installment!
