Tadpole wrote:Egads I suck! But of course I have excuses galore! Emmet's right, that was my 2nd solo landing in a Carbon Cub. At the time of the landing I had a total of 3hrs in it, of which 2.5 were in cruise getting there. That was the first day I had flown a Carbon Cub. I did 5 landings here with the boss, then I flew to McCall for gas, then JC. First time landing JC also. But I figured out my problem. Up to and including that landing I was flying final at 55mph. And at JC I wanted to 3 point it. Well Vr is 40mph...so duh....it's gonna go fly again when I try to bring the tail down. It got much better after that landing, and now I'm flying final at 45mph...plane stalls at 35 or less... Weird getting used to something flying so slow.

Too bad there's no video of Dixie Town, that was a nice landing! I need more practice!

If you haven't learned it yet TP, nobody watches when you "Grease" one on, everybody is watching when you have a little "Brain Fade" and bounce it a couple of times.

Re: 2011 BCP Fly Inn Official Photo and Video Thread

We finally arrived home in okeechobee, fl. We had a total of 60 hrs of flying time. 2 new magnetos, new set of champ plugs, new oil cooler, and about 2500.00 dollars of avgas. That makes the t-shirt i got for flying the furthest for the JC flyin worth 5000.00 plus dollars. Worth every dime, we had a great time, hope to be able to do it again next year. Mary will post some photos later, not as good as some already on here, but different. Thanks to all for the hospitality shown to a couple of tripacer pilots.

Hey Matt great video. I really liked watching me take off from Dewey Moore. The water splashing looks cool. Good job.
