The 2012 Hooper fly-in was a huge success. Lots of planes, sun, and smiles.

We have everything lined up for another Hooper Fly-in at the Sand Dunes Pool (http://www.sanddunespool.com/), put on by the Colorado Recreational Aviation Committee and the Colorado Pilots Assn. The owners of Hooper are wonderful hosts and look forward to this all year. The date will be Saturday, March 9th from 11am-3pm. Pool admission will be half price for fly-in attendees ($6) and the Mile Deep Grill will be open, serving some of the best food in the valley. Camping available if desired (discount). Drive in guests are welcome too.

CAUTION: Powerlines parallel to paved road and perpendicular to airstrip on west end (departure end of 25).

Thanks for posting all the details MM. Should be another fun event. I plan on being there the night before for another round of cold wx camping. Luckily the 107 degree water and food are worth it in the morning.

Gonna try and make this one.

By the morning it was down to the mid teens. Not a problem if you have the right gear.

Less than 2 weeks away, let's hope the weather holds.

A fantastic alternative to cold weather camping: http://www.windsorhoteldelnorte.com A wonderfully restored 1880's hotel with a fantastic restaurant. Park in Del Norte (8V1) and I can make sure you have a ride back and forth from the airport to the hotel. Fly to the Fly-in the next day, just 15 minutes away.

Checked out the strip yesterday. Great shape! Parking area is much more firm than last year. Lets hope for good wx!

The fly-in has been rescheduled to Saturday, MARCH 16th do to the high probability of rain/snow in the forecast.

I'm sorry to ruin everyone's plans for this weekend, but due to a low pressure system moving into the Colorado Rockies this Sat we are going to play it safe and hope for better weather the following weekend. I hope many of you will still be able to make it! All other details and times will remain the same.

I think it's safe to say the weather is going to be great for the fly-in. So jump in your noise maker and head on down to Hooper for a $100 hamburger and a soak.

Also, a few of us are planning on going down Friday night for a little winter camping. The more the merrier!

If anyone would like a rider from Longmont or Boulder, I would be glad to share fuel.
