Airport camping is great! Green mowed grass. I'll be sleeping in the Maule even though it is a 20 minute flight back to home base.

For Tieton, keep an eye on this TFR, it could easily get bigger.

Heads up for Teiton its currently closed with firefighting helicopters and fuel trucks parked on the field. Check the Notams and expect it to be cloesed untill the TFR goes away or they move the Helibase.

Theresa and I would be up for hosting a Barbeque at our house on Saturday night if anyone is interested. :D :D We're 5 minutes from the airport and can provide transportation. Head count?

Re: 2013 WAAAM Annual Hood River Fly-In Sept 6-8

Terry & Lois came back to Nimpo for a coupe weeks & we were talking about the camping situation. They corrected my understanding of the deal:
PILOTS when checking in, are directed to the camping area where there are flush toilets & hot showers. Drive in campers get the rent-a-potties. :) Maybe a little info sharing w/your buddies?

Just poured over 600 yds of concrete for the floor, & the steel is arriving around the first of the month, so it will be in the process of erection @ the flyin weekend. More interesting stuff to see!

I thought that was your Ran's out back. M7flyer and his wife came up from Myrtle Creek for my daughters wedding at The Columbia Gorge Hotel. Good times!

Re: 2013 WAAAM Annual Hood River Fly-In Sept 6-8

Sounds like it might get a little wet here this week and then dry out friday morning just in time for the flyin.

.LONG TERM...FRIDAY EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY...
MODEL AGREEMENT APPEARS TO BE GOOD THROUGH THE EXTENDED PERIOD. THE
LARGE CLOSED LOW OVER THE REGION THIS WEEK IS PROGGED TO FINALLY
PUSH EAST ON FRI. THE LOW CENTER LOOKS TO BE EAST OF THE CASCADES BY
FRI NIGHT...BUT THE MODELS INDICATE THAT THERE COULD BE A FEW
LINGERING SHOWERS FRI NIGHT ASSOCIATED WITH WRAPAROUND MOISTURE ON
THE BACKSIDE OF THE LOW. IT SHOULD BE MOSTLY DRY BY SAT AS THE LOW
LINGERS IN NE WASHINGTON...THEN EXPECT FURTHER DRYING AND WARMING TO
OCCUR THROUGH THE END OF THE WEEKEND AND INTO NEXT WEEK AS A FAIRLY
STRONG LATE SEASON UPPER RIDGE BUILDS OVER THE PAC NW. A THERMAL
TROUGH DEVELOPING ALONG THE COAST MAY TURN THE LOW LEVEL FLOW
EASTERLY...WHICH SHOULD KEEP CLOUDS FROM PUSHING ONSHORE.
TEMPERATURES ARE LOOKING SEVERAL DEG WARMER THAN NORMAL...WITH HIGHS
WELL INTO THE 80S EARLY NEXT WEEK.

Hey Zane how come my photo rotated when I inserted it to the form, its right side up in My Photos.

Re: 2013 WAAAM Annual Hood River Fly-In Sept 6-8

A friend just purchased a Vans RV-4, and has asked for me to fly it to the PNW for him this weekend. Unfortunately, I will miss the Hood River fly in for this. Hope to see you all soon elsewhere.

Images have a flag in their EXIF meta data that indicate the orientation of the camera, or what should be "right side up" but the image is cooked at a absolute orientation. It's up to the displaying software, in this case the web browser, to orient the image correctly. Your image may have lost that EXIF meta data when resized by our gallery software. It's hard to tell.

Go into My Photos, open this photo, and click "rotate right" at the bottom of the photo display area.

Edit: I saw that the URL you were using was from the "originalphotos" folder, where your original, un-resized, unrotated image lives. I edited your post to change "originalphotos" to just "photos" and it displays the rotated version.

Why don't I have the Image URL link using this "photos" folder path to begin with? It requires some forensics and surgical tweaking of the software I'm using.

Hey thanks Zane,

You kind of lost me on the "EXIF meta data" stuff. Good thing you don't have to pass an internet form posting exam to get a pilots certificate.

What a great picture!

The wx man says at 6PM Friday 58% cloud cover and 10% chance of precip. It could be better or worse, no one really knows for sure.

If the forecast is right I plan to be there. Unless I am the only one. Then I might wait till Saturday morning.

Anyone else in for Friday night??

What are your plans?

Scott you still want to do Saturday night Bar B Q?????

Cheers...Rob

Re: 2013 WAAAM Annual Hood River Fly-In Sept 6-8

Scott was talking about doing a barbecue at his house Saturday night. I'm not sure if he still wants to do it or not that would be my first choice. If not there then the try tip dinner would be fine.

Ken I will see you Friday wx permitting.

Cheers Rob
