2013 WAAAM Annual Hood River Fly-In Sept 6-8

This is one of the prettiest places in Oregon. The wx is usually perfect this time of year. Last year we had about 10 guys show up. Plenty of grass strips around to explore. I hope to see some of you there.

My wife is competing in a triathlon in Sweet Home. Maybe we can stay the night on Saturday/Sunday. It would be fun to hangout with the Oregon crew.

Yet another reason to move back to the left coast. Dang I miss a lot about the northwest...

Nice green grass south of the main WAAAM building. That is where they will park all over night planes.
Hope to see you there Jake.

Cheers...Rob

They're just pouring the concrete for the last 30,000 sq.ft. addition. Lois just made/froze 14 gallons of s'pgetti sauce! WAAAM is a very unique & awesome experience!

If the weather cooperates, I am going to fly up just to see you Schwabenton! Rob what waterboy is not telling is his other job flying crazy Heli skiers in the winter and the might sky crane into roaring wild fires in the summer.

I need to see that 170 of yours!

Fingers crossed for good weather

Ken sounds like a person who knows how to live life. Hey Kevin, the wx is always perfect that time of year! When I was a school boy I would sit in class starring out the window at the perfect wx, saying to myself, what the hell am I doing here.

Everything really important in life I learned from my mom and dad. School diplomas are so over rated.

Re: 2013 WAAAM Annual Hood River Fly-In Sept 6-8

As Rob says the weather is about perfect that time of year here. The winds in the Gorge start easing up as Fall approaches. There was a good number of planes here last year. My 170 is not much to look at but there is some cool old stuff in the WAAM museum.

There is an endless supply of craft beer in town. I think we have 5 brewery's now. It's hard to keep count. I might know a sober shuttle driver if any one is interested.

Should be a good weekend, come on up Kevin.

I'm looking forward to meeting some of you BCP pilots.

This sounds like a good one to go to. I will watch the weather. Can you camp at the airport or do most people motel it ?

That's a good question! If not, there is airplane camping at Tieton State about 60 nm north.

LOTS of camping/parking on nice grass. They rent outhouses & scatter 'em around.
