Our 4th annual T-shirts are now available for purchase. We don't bring many to the Roundup so it's best to order through our website. Thanks for your support.

Re: '17 Texas STOL Roundup Hondo Video

Our Airboss and I flew to Hondo today to survey the airport for the Roundup. Here is a short video I shot with my iPhone to give you and idea of its size and to see the turf runway that is being prepared for our use.

Re: STOL Seminar & Hangar Dance @ TX STOL Roundup

A couple of things to announce.

Friday Sep 29 around 10am we will have a STOL Seminar/Roundtable conducted by some talented STOL pilots and instructors. You don’t have to be a competitor to attend.

And…

Saturday night we will have a hangar dance courtesy of the City of Hondo. Gunpowder Soup will be playing so bring your dancing shoes and see if you can keep up with Joe "Pops" Dory and his better half.

Re: Martin Marietta @ TX STOL Roundup

Martin Marietta @ TX STOL Roundup

The logistics and cost, in both time and money, to put on an event like ours is very significant. One of the elements is Porta-Potties. Kinda important. For reasons that have nothing to do with us we found ourselves 20 Porta-Potties short- and they are not free. Quite the quandary. After much concern and discussion as to how to solve the problem we called the Hondo Chamber of Commerce. Thanks to their efforts Martin Marrietta stepped up to the plate and sponsored 20 Porta-Potties. A huge thanks to Martin Marrietta.

This is a great example as to why it is imperative that all of us take the time to thank the people who make this event possible.

Re: Regarding Shower Trailer @ TX STOL Roundup

Regarding the Shower Trailers

We just received this from Mike Costello at Mission On Wheels.

“Rockport and Aransas County are in rough shape. We're expecting to have our equipment there for another 30 days at least. We've ordered a third shower trailer but don't expect it to arrive for another 4 weeks. Our first shower trailer is still in Louisiana. I'm checking with the group using it to see if we can get it back this weekend or next week. I know it needs some repairs after 15 months deployed but I don't know how much work yet. As right now I don't see how we can make it Hondo for your event. I enjoy the STOL event every year and will miss not being there this year.”

All of us wish he could be at this year’s event however I know I can speak for everyone that we understand and applaud and thank him for his efforts helping with the disaster recovery efforts.
