We are pleased to announce Savage and the Savage Outback “Shock” to our list of sponsors for this year’s event. Pick up one of their brochures in the registration tent and be sure and thank them for supporting our event.

Are they going to have one of their shock cubs there? Will be fun to watch if it is...

Not this year. He was planning on it and had been practicing a lot but won't be able to come down for some reason.

Re: 2017 Texas STL Roundup

I was weathered out but not licked. I am driving East on Interstate 10 near Fort Stockton at this very moment under cloudy but soon to be clear skies. Perhaps I should have waited a little longer before swapping the Husky for the Audi. Despite not intending to compete personally there was no way I was going to miss this year's event. They have gotten better and better every year and the spectators and participants are second to none. I think Barnstormer, associate CAGs and AIRBOSS deserve all the support they can get from the backcountry community. They got mine 100%. Not to mention the fine folks of Hondo who have rolled out the red carpet and the event sponsors who have thrown in.

Glad the weather is clearing and aircraft are arriving. See you soon.

Re: 2017 Texas STL Roundup Results

Here are some of my pictures from Friday and Saturday at the Texas STOL roundup.

You can see the all them in my photos section, from Ohio to Texas to Jason dropping me off in Nebraska. He did a fantastic job with the nasty crosswind was gusting to 25 plus. It was one of the worst I had been in years!

Big shout out to all of the pilots that made it in on Friday and Saturday.

A huge shout out goes to Phil, the Air Boss, Mini Boss and all of the volunteers that made the event happen. I look forward to next years event. Thank you All!

Re: 2017 Texas STL Roundup Results

What happened to the results for the Bearhawk 4-place that flew with the Heavy certified class? They don't seem to be listed at all on the site...

I realize he was the only experimental in the heavy class, but he WAS there, and he DID compete, and he seemed to do pretty well. I understand not recognizing a "category win" for a single-plane category, but shouldn't you acknowledge that he was there, competed, and show his results? Not doing so only serves to discourage other potential participants from making the effort.

We had a great time, and only wish the weather hadn't messed up all the plans for folks flying in. Thanks to all the folks who competed. You put on quite a show!

Look closer at the result pdfs, he is in there under Heavy Touring Experimental.

I would have liked to see the battle between the Legend cubs and the Carbon Cubs. Maybe next year.
