Seems like some of those little-used strips in the Arco Desert might be good options, but it's hard saying. Wouldn't be surprised if they were parking lots of vehicles, since they so rarely see an airplane. I'd cary enough fuel to get home without a stop, regardless of the destination.
I'll be watching from outside the total eclipse band...it only get 90-something percent of it, which is just fine with me. When I compare the drama of trying to find a location within the eclipse band to the hand-full of seconds the eclipse will be total, it doesn't compute for me. Besides, umbra is soooo overrated...pre and post umbra is where all the action is!
