206H NLG fork change
Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?
Our new to us 01 T206H came with wheel pants (which we promptly removed) and partner does NOT want (will not= so no debate) to add an AirGlas front fork. I believe our 206H model was available with std fork (5.00x5 tire) and a larger fork? Does anybody know where I can find out about the larger option NLG fork? I visited the FAA sites but ended up on a snipe hunt. I just want a little larger tire than 5.00x5 for grass landings; no serious off field stuff; have Husky for that.
Thanks for any/all help. Again, I had AirGlas NLG and big tires on 56 182 so no need to convince me of AirGlas improvements.

Good question- Earlier 206 show fork options in the IPC so I thought I'd look it up for you real quick but it turns out my Textron subscription doesn't cover the "late model" airplanes, they want a lot of money for those manuals. Did your airplane come with a set of manuals?
If not you could snoop around the office of a real FBO that has the proper parts book and see if there were different forks available there.
Curious why your A&P partner is adverse to the Airglas fork? I've installed several of them and it's a nice upgrade, especially as the STC allows for pretty much any combination of tire sizes the backcountry pilot might desire.

Apparently, strut needs to be cut to size and therefore couldn't be put back to stock when we're ready to sell without finding a new strut. I know, making resale an issue now since we just bought this bird is a little frustrating. Other than that, he is the perfect partner. We're still discussing AirGlas; but, I want to find out what the other Cessna fork is all about.
Thanks again.

Jack.
There are two fork sizes available for the H model 206. Where youd find one, I'm guessing Cessna would be first.....$$$
I just recall when the 206H came out, they offered two different fork sizes.
Not much help, but I'd call Cessna or a Cessna dealer, maybe they can offer more info.

It’s easy to buy a new strut tube to modify and keep your original tube unmolested with the original fork still installed. In fact I believe Airglas will sell you their fork with a serviceable strut tube already installed. With the price point airplanes like your’s command it’s hard to believe an Airglas nosefork would impact resale value very much.
Obviously it’s a bit of a project to swap out the strut tube in the strut assembly but it’s not rocket surgery. Good opportunity to install a remote strut servicing valve if the airplane doesn’t already have one. Adding nitrogen to the strut in the stock location is best done by a mechanic with small hands, skinny arms, and a positive attitude.

Not sure if it's the same p/n but I may be removing the fork off my 206 because I just bought an airglas. It fits a 700 with a little filing of the casting joint.
Why does your partner not want an airglas fork?

OK, with BCP members help, I've found out the HD OEM fork is pn 1243634-1. I've checked two major online salvage yards, Preferred, Yingling etc and found none.
Anybody know of one for sale?
Thanks
