Well yesterday I took my check ride after about 45 hours of training in a C-170B. Took it at Wellington Ks KEGT after hitting 3 grass runways to get their. So I am a real pilot from the start.

Congrats! Now you have a license to learn--and there is one heckuva lot of stuff to learn. Everyone of us here, no matter what our ratings, no matter how many hours, are still students to some extent, because no one knows all there is to know about flying.

That is awesome! I am on my way to try and reach the same point. I have almost 30 hours so far so I can see the light at the beginning of the new tunnel!

Your post brought back so many great memories for me. I too got my PPL in a C-170 at a relatively young age (N3853V - which was sadly totaled by a subsequent owner). After 29 years of being a licensed pilot, I still learn something new each and every time I fly.
