Re: Aeronca Sedan. What your thoughts?

Hi, sorry to revive this old thread, since some here seem to know the AC in details, I’m looking for information on the spar of the AC15, down anyone have detail on it? I found a wing from one, the ribs are usable but the part is not, it was take apart and they placed some building material on it, and it really bent out of shape,,, I cant get a consistent measure to on the thickness of the spar... thanks.

Re: Aeronca Sedan. What your thoughts?

Pulling an old thread again for another Sedan question.

How big are we talking for interior space? I own a Stinson 108-3 right now and I'm not really jazzed with how difficult it is getting bikes inside. It seems like a Sedan with seaplane doors and the backseats out would be a peach to load up.

Seems ridiculous to think about switching planes because of loading, especially since the Stinson is such a good flyer but I just can't stop staring at Sedans.

I most appropriate adjective too use would be "cavernous" to best describe the cabin space of a Sedan

Re: Aeronca Sedan. What your thoughts?

There is a cross tube that holds up the back of the rear sling seat about at the level of the bottom of the rear windows. There is also also tubes that go from the lower longerons on either side to this tube at a 45 degree angle. None of these tubes are removable. There is a mod offered by Burl’s Aircraft called the camper mod that dog legs these tubes allowing for a more square area below the cross tube as opposed to an upside down V. There is also an extended baggage mod that is an upside down V that I’m guessing is about 2 feet wide and 2 feet tall and 3 feet deep. I will take some measurements and photos.
