Airwolf Remote oil filter C185

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

As in, anything you bolt can and likely will leak one day, just less places for it to happen on the TCM adapter.

There is less places for the TCM one to leak, but there is still and AD out on it, and I have had them start to leak on multiple planes. It's an easy o-ring to change, but definitely not exempt from leaking either.

I believe the AD just mandates what the mechanic (or owner) should have been checking when they did an oil change anyway, but you're right, there's are AD.

I have a remote oil filter sitting on the shelf. Removed during a motor mount swap this fall. If anyone is interested let me know.

It is checking, and putting a torque wrench on it as well. Not too much different form the AD on the tempest adapter really.

Or torque it once, then put torque putty on it, and just check the torque putty.

Re: Airwolf Remote oil filter C185

I'm over the Tempest. It's hit or miss on whether I'll spend the morning cleaning up oil. Ordered an Airwolf - thinking about lower left side - so send more oil filter porn!

This is now for sale with the new, unused seals. $300.

Re: Airwolf Remote oil filter C185

Tempest filters (used to?) come packaged in individual plastic bags.
They work pretty well to contain the mess if you slip them over the filter after you break the torque.

PM sent.

Re: Airwolf Remote oil filter C185

I have installed two of the Airwolf setups on Stinsons, one Franklin and one Lyc, installation was fairly easy and I never had an issue with them. Filter changes were easy and clean with a firewall mount and upright position.

Installed a number of Airwolf remotes. Never had one leak. On the radial installs, it’s the only item that isn’t leaking :D
