Another Cessna Interior Refurb! W/pics!

Here is my buddy's Skylane that I started back in october. Atlee jumps seats, selkirk extended baggage, selkirk insulation, skyloc cowl fastener kit, new door seals, new fuel bladders, aerofloor dot slate, dupont variprime with PTI interior epoxy in federal grey, new rear window, etc., etc., etc. Almost done, hope to wrap this up in the next couple weeks. Thanks to bigrenna for the inspiration!

Nice work! It's cool to see an omni-vision 182 with the utility interior look!

I really like the way you blokes are doing that black insulation and the way it leaves the bones of the aircraft visible, Ive always been partial to naked motorbikes for the same reason. Nice job!

What is the insulation material being used? How thick is it?

1/4" closed cell foam from Selkirk Aviation. Cant remember who manufactures it but I have the paperwork somewhere, I'll see if I can find it.

It looks like you did an awesome job on the refurb and I really like the tan interior.

Please post more pictures when you move it outside.

Wow, what a clean looking utility interior. well done. Do you have any before pictures? And I too would be curious to hear how much weight was saved.

I'll have to dig for before pictures, I'm not sure if I have any. I will post what the weight ends up at. I should be weighing it next week.

Re: Another Cessna Interior Refurb! W/pics!

I weighed the skylane today! I'm happy to report a loss of 112 lbs! The last empty weight was calculated at 1959lbs. The weight today was 1847 lbs. This makes for a useful load of 1253 lbs. I'm pretty happy about that, so is the owner!

Thank guys! The floor is the same that mountainmatt is using, aerofloor dot. I think the color is charcoal.

Re: Another Cessna Interior Refurb! W/pics!

Great work! Looks good, and most of all it looks like it'll be very functional.

And, 112 pounds in one of these things is a really big deal.
