Best Float Plugs?

I bought a bunch of seaplane outfitter plugs for the Beaver and used them last summer.

They do work pretty good. you can jam them in hard so they don't come out.

The only difference is the pump is just a little harder to operate because of the reduced diameter hole I guess
and the angle you hold the pump is a little more touchy to get a good seal.

Overall I like them and would recommend them!

We have these on the aft halfs of our 2960s. They work well but are showing their age. Anybody know of a source for spares?

It’s been years since I’ve seen those and I want to say Lake&Air sold them. They have a different version of the the one way float plugs now:

Lake & air with a small loop of paracord, never lose one, they seal well and look good

Local crows in the Seattle area have an affinity for that setup, love to fly away with them.

On floats that leak a bit these suck, they do not allow the float pump to seal well in the cup so they suck more air than water.

A relatively expensive gimmick Aeroset ones are my go to with a string to pull out and attached to a screw so we never loose them.

On Aeroset and other tight floats they blow out while climbing to altitude too fast. Darn ravens :D
