Best places to tour fall colors?

Here in Northern Minnesota, the leaves are starting to change. Seeing the colors from the air is an experience. What valleys, strips, mountain passes, or routes have given you the best views this time of year? Share photos if you have them.

Re: Best places to tour fall colors?

Everywhere East of the Rockies offers some nice fall colors to enjoy. Whether it is aspens turning into gold, or maples turning into rubies, there are spots in most states that will take your breath away. I think that is why so many babies are born in the late spring...It may also be the reason the East coast has so many more people than the West coast. Out here in the PNW, the view doesn't change much from season to season. A Douglas Fir is always just a Douglas Fir.

This shot could have been taken anytime from March through October in the PNW. November through February the trees would look the same but they be hidden by a shroud of rain.

Here's a shot from an October flight over some orchards in the SE. Lots more color!

Great shot! Those vibrant reds really pop against the surrounding terrain — something you only catch from the sky.

Pretty dull foliage year here. We have been in drought for a bit. We are now past peak with a lot of leaves on the ground already. This is looking south at the Hudson River Gorge wilderness area, which is where we run our whitewater trips. One more weekend to go for the season on those. Thankfully there is still water in the reservoir.
