Here are some of the photos I took. Overall a great trip and the weather was as good as one could ask for. For Katie’s first fly-in trip, I think she had a pretty good time. She was really nervous the whole time, but once we arrived home safely, she starting chatting like a morning finch about this and that. With any luck, she may want to do this again (JC perhaps).

Nate and Meghan were great company and hopefully they can come to Johnson Creek too!

At Mexican Mountain we just enjoyed the peace and quite. After setting up camp we went on a little hike and shortly thereafter a couple from WY flew in with a SuperCub. Even some nice cowboys stopped by to say hi after riding the canyons.

Thanks again everyone for a wonderful time, it was great seeing everyone. Even though the Stinson gulped down a ton of oil it performed great.

Now, time to put together some video.

MountainMatt : Couple of tips that may help you ! Franklins like to spit out oil. It is their nature ! I very seldom keep the oil level at 8 or 9 quarts unless I am on a long haul or the outside temps are real hot and I'm pushing it hard ! I run my 165 most of the time at 6 to 6.5 quarts and find the oil consumption is much better. A oil/air separator will also help ! Also, don't use multi- grade oil in warm weather - you'll find oil leaks you didn't know you had --that won't appear if you use straight weight - grade 100 . Performance, both take off and cruise will be much better if you re-pitch the prop to 7652 and run the rpms up to 2600 to 2700 and lean her out. This is not speculation, we have done this on about ten Stinsons in the area and all have seen better performance !

Rod and Paula have shirts left for anyone that didn't get one at the fly-in or for those that just want to pick one up. The cost is $25 each plus $5 in shipping. These shirt look great and are high quality (I own a few :) )

Here is the Caveman Fly-in 2011 shirt.

PM Caveman for size and ordering details. Get them while they last, this is a HOT item. :D :D

Mrs grasstripilot. I think she was going to take the baby walk back. Not really, she is one cool mom.

Corey, Dee, Adam, Sadie. The grass strip family. They get my vote for the BCP first family. Corey always comes with the whole family. Dude how you do that is beyond me!

Hey Rob,

Bigger tires are definitely on the list for when I upgrade our family plane. It didn't help that this was where we lost the right brake! I guess the video of you and Blu bolting was worth it though. I told Dee about you asking "How we do it?" She says she wonders too. I know how I do it...a wonderful wife that enjoys it enough to want to make it a family affair. It's a lot of work, but so worth it! I am very fortunate. Thanks again for all the help. It was great seeing you again and we look forward to seeing you, and everyone else, up at JC next month.
