As I was reading and got to the vibration part and you said more about that at the end of the post I thought Hmmmmm... Did he???

As I was slowly scrolling down I caught a glimpse of that sexy prop! AhhhHaaa! Yep, that will take care of the problem! I love my MT prop! 3 blade and 2 blade, both fantastic props.

VERY nice job on the panel, thanks for taking the time to post.

Looks great! Forgive me if I missed it, but how did you do the lighting around the gauges?

Thanks! For the lighting we took out all the old bulbs and wiring, and replace them with a product called nulite. It's an LED ring that fits between the panel and the front of the instrument and lights it all the way around. They are pretty cool, but like most airplane things, a little pricey for what they are.

I went something similar, though not as extensive. Yours looks nice. You'll love those nulites.

Very nice job. I love my G5. It's nice to see people treat their planes nicely and pamper them as much as possible.
Nice justification for the 3-blade MT. Now I have prop envy.

Re: Cessna 170b Panel & Avionics Partial Upgrade

Having seen it in person, I can attest that it is beautiful, both the panel and prop! All just in time for our trip up north!

Great job of combing new technoligies with classic look. The descriptions of your old instruments was very funny and is just about what I've got going on with my panel. Thanks for the write up.

Between the panel and the prop you are definitely cooler. :D

Very nice.

I realize I'm dragging up a old thread but this is absolutely the best looking blend of old and new I've ever seen in a 170, fantastic

I agree a great combination of old and new. It looks great. Do you recall what alloy and thickness is your new floating panel?
