Who does touch and goes at Chicken Strip. Been there once in a 182B and found it a very interesting landing. I landed slow in the first 100 ft and had lots of runway. Had to used power to get up to the parking end. Uphill a bit.

You play in your own backyard.. Ours is too far from yours to do in a day... And don't sell the desert short.. it has its virtues..

Yes the desert is only for the crazy ones, stay away if you have decision making problems in Idaho about density altitude take offs the desert will kill you. Besides its just a bunch of rocks and sand I am moving as soon as I get a chance, there is nothing here. I have a place in Idaho I will be moving to soon, I got to get out of this god-forsaken place

Godforsaken...

Intimidating, harsh, breathtakingly beautiful, everchanging light and weather to hold you spellbound for hours. Like the mountains in Idaho, or Arctic Alaska in the winter, the high desert is all of the above.

But godforsaken... Not a chance.

A large number of virtues, many of the best are very subtle...

Humor may not make the world go around, but it certainly cheers up the process... :)
With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).
Success has many fathers...... Failure is an orphan.

But would you have a flyin there in the summer? Not ever been there but I would think this would be a place that you would go to in the spring or fall...not in the heat of the summer. I am only asking.

The faster I go , the farther behind I get.

Thought I heard a 'tomorrow' in there at the start.........

I don't think there would be much 'discussion' about mid summer......and with my little engine, I could only taxi mid-day mid-summer.

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

My SPOT page

Wow I was impressed 30 x 1500 land up hill 34 looks really short but the uphill slows you down quick. Walked over to the springs put my suit on got in 5 min later some guy strolled by walkin his dog. All he had on was shoes and a knapsack. I thought oh no, I now I'm at least 150 mi north of Hollywood and 200 east of the gay bay. Bout 15 sec later his sig other walked by with sandals only, now that perked my interest. Cool place weather severe clear 75 deg no wind on the ground. 125mph goin up 165 commin back. Someone just dragged the strip I think I was the first one to land since. No not a place you'd go in the summer, last time I was in that area I was crusing and thermaling at 12k to 18k.

Where's the "Hot Springs" ? > I've landed there but didn't much more than
land and takeoff . I'll go back for "Hot Spring Therapy" about 80 miles from me.

Thanks Bill. It will take a few days to get rid of that visual.

Ok, Ok. Sometimes the 'not so subtle' distracts on occasion from the 'subtle'. (I believe 'virtue' came into play there, er, ah,...... somewhere... ah,... what was I sayn'?)

Most everybody there wanders around naked. I don't like looking at myself in the mirror naked so I wear trunks out of concern for my fellow man when stopping for a soak. That said, nobody there gives a shit which is a good thing. I've met nothing but interesting, good people there.
