FAA: Now Investigating The Harlem Shake
Discuss the legality of flying the backcountry, FARs, advocacy, and aviation relevant legislation. Registered users only.
And the FAA crys about budget cuts? Maybe they need to focus on things that matter to public safety if their resources are cut?
How much time and manpower will be wasted on this?

Short of violating some rule of no consequence that exists for enforcement's sake, is there a structural danger to the plane by having that much human cargo moving together in rhythm? A shifting CG is a danger also but I am thinking something more like walkways and balconies that have been weakened or collapsed from dancing rhythm. Can this happen on an aircraft or is this entirely beyond possibility. Of course I hope by this question I have not set in motion entire plane loads of terrorists who take up dancing in the aisles to bring down their own plane.

Lynn Sanderson (Dirtstrip) passed away from natural causes in May 2013. He was a great contributor and will be missed dearly.
No wonder the FAA is despised. What a bunch of jerks.

Um, I'm thinking the plane wasn't even away from the gate and sitting on the ground. Just by my guess watching the video. I mean come on...... Who brings a Banana costume with them on a trip? (unless this was around Holloween)

And we wonder why university costs are so high? Flying an ultimate frisbee team from Colorado to San Diego?
That stupid decision should be what's being investigated.

The FAA is probably just investigating because the Harlem Shake is so passé.

Most ultimate teams are club sports, perhaps all of them. The NCAA doesn't recognize it as a sport. So it is likely that they had to raise their own money for travel and the university had no contribution.

Hell, Pops Dory has been doing that for years, and to much better tunes. What say Pops, how about doing the shake?
