Fresh air

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Fresh air

To all,

I recently saw a picture of a wing root venting system that incorporated an "airline" style vent in the wing root and second one halfway down the associated forward door post. Does anyone in the BCP community recognize this modification, have operational knowledge of it or know a name of the supplier ?

Cheers

Re: Fresh air

By "airline" style vents do you mean this? If so, here's a link to buy them. http://buyplaneparts.com/aerovent-syste ... 5-205-210/
Mark Y just put them in his 182 and they look great. He says they work as good as they look. Barnstormer says they didn't clear his V brace in his 185. I'd like to try them in my 206, but I'd have to cut it to finish it the way I want, and that a lot to send to cut them...

Re: Fresh air

That’s exactly the product I was considering, I'm glad I asked first because I have a v-brace to accommodate as well, thank you

Re: Fresh air

Buy the air vents Sportys sells, I have had them in 2 185's with V braces as well as other Cessna's. They are worth every penny they cost!

Ya it's to bad. I've installed a few of the sites vents and they work great.

Super Vent
When the Temps get into the triple digits here in South Texas, I install my "Super Vents" !
First, I pull out the Cessna windshield vents And slide in the two clear plastic tubes. One on the left and one on the right. They are joined together by a coupling in the center. The tubes have a sliding sleeve that covers a large hole that is directly centered over the pilots and copilots head. All air can be shut off by simply sliding each sleeve over each vent hole. So if your flying by your self you get all the air from both wing vents. I typically point the air right at my neck line and it puffs my shirt out while I'm flying : ) If someone is with me then I share the air! But even sharing the air, you both get it all without wasting a drop! And it's still healthy.

While it is not as pretty as an installation, it's not $1400, and functional. And you can move it from plane to plane in minutes. In the photo the black velcro is the sleeve on each side. This was my prototype. In later units I used white velcro, and since the tube is clear it does not obstruct your vision. Anyway, that's how I handle the heat

Re: Fresh air

Why are you guys posting screenshots instead of the source images? Let me know if I can help assist in your process.

Often, if you find an image on the web, you can just copy the image URL (image address, link adress, etc) and put it between BBcode img tags without having to save it on your device and reupload.

I guess i find screen shots easier since I'm using my phone and tapatalk. On some sites I can just save the image, but Buy Plane Parts wouldn't let me. I'm not super computer savvy though. Does it bugger up your system if we use screenshots?
