GARMIN 760 panel mount

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

GARMIN 760 panel mount

If anyone else here is not a fan of AIRGIZMO mounts, here is a solution I came up with. Very sturdy and easy to reach up under panel to push the release. Very happy with the Garmin 760.

Re: GARMIN 760 panel mount

Very nice. Looks great. I like the 760 but am sure disappointed that they don't have the sirius built in like the 796. Because of that ill keep the 796 until it craps out. Just don't like the idea of needing 2 separate units when they have it all built in on another unit...

Re: GARMIN 760 panel mount

That is a very nice panel!!! However, you just took a big hole that you could reach your arm into to get too the back of stuff without pulling the seat and crawling on you back. If you put nut plates/screws instead of rivets you could drop the entire unit with 4 screws and have great access for repair/annual, I do a lot of work myself so for me form follows function. DENNY

Re: GARMIN 760 panel mount

Yeah your right. I really screwed it up. What was I thinking. I forgot that you need a BIG ASS HOLE in the middle of the panel to do an annual.

I’ve always loved your panel. Well, I’ve always loved your whole plane!

Don't knock it until you try it. :D I said it was a very nice panel! You have 4 screw heads on the each steam gauge and the engine monitor. 4 more on the GPS is not going to make anything look bad. If you like to clean/inspect/lube the controls with you head stuffed under a Cessna dash go for it. It seems like maintenance is the last thing anyone considers when building a panel especially the factory. Your panel is fine and you should fly what you like.

Greg will just build another panel if he has to do any work behind it.

Re: GARMIN 760 panel mount

Greg, do you happen to know the dimensions of your bracket for the 760? Basically the depth and min width. Thanks

Re: GARMIN 760 panel mount

Love the 760. I used one for years in a yoke mount when they first came out in my V35B. Then mounted one in my Cessna. My husky doesn't have the space and now I have a panel mount 660, which I actually am starting love!

Here was my setup in the 172 - It worked pretty well!

Love the Aera 660 and 760 when docked, much prefer to iPad clutter.
Mooney M20 with the 660 acting as a big screen for Garmin 355 as well as general SA
Bearhawk Patrol with 660 acting as the center of the universe

Re: GARMIN 760 panel mount

Flush mounted 760 without air gizmo mount. It’s possible and much better looking.
