The extreme examples in this thread notwithstanding, it truly amazes me how many people can spend huge amounts of money to build or restore an aircraft, then totally ruin the thing with a hideous paint job. Just walk around any major aviation gathering and you'll see plenty of examples of this. Always makes me shake my head....
The John Denver 210 was for sale recently. It was a good value. My wife and I kicked the idea of buying it around a bit, but in the end decided we couldn't stomach that hideous pait job and didn't want to spend additional money to have it repainted. I believe the fellow who bought it posted some youtube videos of backcountry landings in it (it's STOL equipped).
I'm actually supposed to be going over to Europe in March to do some paratroop certifications on jump aicraft in a few countries and this is one of them on my list to certify.
