A few mods for the Aeropress:

If you like a bit richer and but less clean brew from the Aeropress, these metal disc are nice and save you from having to buy paper filters.

ALTURA The DISC FINE Stainless Steel Filter for AeroPress Coffee Makers – Reusable Metal Filter Replacement for Rich Flavor, Travel, and Eco-Friendly Brewing https://a.co/d/0baCdJZu

I use them with this flow control, which does not allow coffee to drip through until you squeeze it out.

AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap, Stops Drip for Full Control Over Grind Size & Time, Brew Classics, Espresso Style, Lattes, Cold Brew & More, Fits Standard Size AeroPress Manual Coffee Maker https://a.co/d/0ed4j8RQ

AZ Flyer,

I love the paint job on your 206. Classic simple and looks awesome!

I bought a metal mesh filter and accidentally tossed it in the garbage, which was taken out before i noticed it was missing. Years of paper filter muscle memory i guess.

My experience was quite a bit of sludge, but that’s also my fault for just using the every day Krups blade grinder instead of my hand crank burr for an even coarse grind.

A new addition to the back country coffee making a mini french press that fits inside my travel mug.

I'm "old school" with my brewing techniques, I just plunk this on top of my single burner Coleman.

I use the folgers coffee singles. They are basically coffee in a tea bag. Heat up a rapid boil and you have enough water for morning oatmeal and coffee. Hard to beat for light weight, use two per cup if you like it strong. If we have a few planes then a pot on a stove is even better.

Another camping staple-- instant oatmeal, aka mush.
Compact & light for packing, quick & easy to prepare.
Long shelf life, as long as mice don't get into it.
And it's even tasty, as long as your taste buds aren't too sophisticated to enjoy something so plebian.,
