I'll be on that thing from time to time. I've got time, problem is some of the drugs cause me to not really be able to keep my eyes open and when they are open I can't focus very well.

What are those? Oh ya those things I only get to drive to from time to time! HAHAHA! When you planning to do one at your place again? Also, doesn't look like I'll get approval for any non-paved strip with the rental KCAB...bummer.

Tadpole

Tough it out for a couple of weeks and you will have it made. I tore up both knees on bikes 50 years ago, didn't have them fixed, made 1699 jumps over the years, suffered for many years then got both knees joints replaced just over a year ago. Wow, I'm a new person without pain, stay in there for a couple of weeks and you be smiling.

If you dont mind me asking what doctor are you using? I know someone in a similar situation that is looking alternatives to the standard old person unit! Anyway, if you could provide any other info that would be GREAT!

Thanks

Re: I'm getting a fake hip

Tadpole,
I've had more surgerys than I care to remember and years of rehab the only advice I can give you is to push yourself harder than you think you can go during therapy. Living with pain is not fun. Like I stated earlier..I have 3+ feet metal rods in me and deal with it everyday. Some days are so bad I do nothing other than hold the couch down. :)
I KNOW it will be painfull and hard to do but the harder you push yourself (there are limits of course) the quicker you'll be able to get back to flying. Get well soon and the best of luck on your recovery!!

Re: I'm getting a fake hip

93K,
Dr. Huddleston at Stanford gave me a new left hip. 40 days later, he said I was good to go. Only took some pain pills the first week. I found rehabilitation exercises for the hip not a big deal: kind of fun, in that, one day you can barely do it and the next, it is manageable. If you can manage without hip surgery, by all means, do so, it is major trauma to the body. If you can't manage (your wife doesn't walk alongside Igor), schedule some downtime and get it over with.

Good luck to your firend, glad I did it.
