JRBAF, non profit with a few nice strips

Anyone hear of this?

It’s a non profit with a nice ranch and another spot that’s open to the public

Yep, went in there and stayed a couple days . Pretty sweet. Like camping on a golf course . Caretaker was super friendly . Was there with one other airplane and we had the place to ourselves. Will go back for certain. Hotter than hell in the summer colder than a witches titty in the winter . Giant elk wandering around . Quit a special place . I could see this becoming overly popular in the near future as word gets out.

I think I’ll add this to my Idaho Alvord Dead Cow route. Looks great.

Being just about dead center in the most remote area in the lower 48 is pretty cool.Rattle snakes the size of pythons out there .

Interesting! When planning to attend the "coast-to-coast" eclipse in 2017, I just started cold calling owner/managers of private strips in Central Oregon to see if they would tolerate a fly-in guest for the event. I was pleasantly surprised at how many actually had accommodations for fly-in company. My wife and I wound up staying at "Land's Inn" https://www.landsinn.net/ with 12 other planes and had a great time. The strip is 49OR on the chart. From just looking at the NOAA chart, you'd never know this was a viable stop for transient pilots. It's just listed as another private ranch on the chart. The runway is just the extended gravel/dirt driveway to the ranch. We rented one of their tiny A frame cabins but others stayed in their tents on the property. Plans for a big catered affair pretty much fell apart, but all of the attendees chipped in to make it a communal event. Here's my video memory of that trip. Land's Inn is also along the path to the Alvord and Dead Cow if you are flying on the east side of the Cascades. I really like the high desert of Oregon & Idaho. It's magnificent country.

A donation is in order for this ranch. Great spot. They are looking for a tractor donation for Star Valley Ranch airstrip just around the bend from here.

Def a great spot. Our local Idaho Aviation Association chapter hosted a fly-in there last fall. Great stuff and a good turnout. I'll be back!

We just built a new outhouse on opposite side of runway from original tie down area. New tie down / camp area being established. This place looks like it may turn into a mini Johnson Creek. Very popular.
