Well, despite the winds, fires, TFR's, and smoke, we still had a pretty good time. I know a few tried to swing by, but the vis and smoke made for a challenging time. And those of you that decided to cancel, I don't blame you one bit.

It was great to see those that came! I believe we had about 15 planes throughout the weekend, and 35+ at dinner. We need to have another La Garita fly-in, the place is just too cool.

Post Flight Grin - Took the ranch manager's grandson up for his first airplane ride. He lives in rural town in Texas and had never been in a commercial or private airplane. He was a natural. After a low pass over the runway and flight over the nearby canyons his comment in flight was "now I know why you guys like flying."

Looks like there was a whole lot of BS going on at this fly in!

I would totally be up for a September "make up". I was signed up for the fly-in but got spooked by the fires and conditions. Incidentally, I work with Mike Spearman's son - A really great guy!
