Maule from S. CA north and east through OR, WA, ID, MT to MI

I'm planning to fly my 1966 Maule M4-210C with big tires from S. CA north through CA, OR, WA, then east through ID, MT to MI, then south to VA, NC, FL. I've got plenty of tailwheel time and some good mountain experience over the decades, have enjoyed places like Johnson Creek, Schafer, Flying B, etc, in the past. If anyone out there has some updates, tips or wants to connect, I'm all ears. I'm particularly interested in airstrips near hot springs, will be camping under the wing and just taking the month of October to explore and enjoy. This particular Maule is new to me, so if anyone has tips on the aircraft/engine, I'd appreciate it.

Just as you cross from California into Oregon, the Alvord Desert is waiting for you. I typically tie my plane down close to the Alvord Hot springs on the western edge of the playa. You can see details on Google Maps. Lots of videos about visiting the Alvord are on YouTube. Here's mine from this June:

That's going to be a great trip, I'm jealous! Will be excited to see some pictures though.

+1 for the Alvord, it’s a really cool spot. Breakfast at Rome service or Denio junction.

I'm up in Burns just a bit North from the Alvord. Have hanger space if need be, stop by!

If you find yourself at 6K5, I'd be happy to show you my M4-220 project...
