Re: Minimum lake size

Get ur water wings pinned on but here the warning: ITS VERY ADDICTIVE so you might as well start looking around for a set of water shoes for one of your toys now.

Re: Minimum lake size

Yea, already talked to a friend to see if he'd done any in Carbon Fiber yet- but he hasn't. So I'll be looking for a set of Aerocet 2200's.

I know of a nice set of 2960s with 185 rigging for sale. Pretty cheap and you could grab them in FSJ on your next trip through.

Re: Minimum lake size

It tough to know which one to "kit up' but I'm kind of leaning towards the 185 and save the Cub for the "other" games

Lets have some fun and see which "faction" can spend Barnstormer's money faster for him, the Cub Crowd or the Cessna Drivers

Now that's funny. But I have to tell you there is a third, albeit much smaller, faction- and that's my friends that want me to buy a Beaver on floats. One in particular even suggests I paint it to match his fleet so he has access to a backup- just in case. I have to admit I have a fondness for round engines and for Beavers, but unfortunately I don't have a wallet thick enough to support that fondness.

I think I prefer the idea of floating the SQ2 because of a number of reasons:

1. Let's face it, an SQ2 on floats is kind of a cheat. Cob the power to it and it's just off the water in no time at all.

2. I think up here I'd mostly use a float plane to access lakes and rivers in the Bristol Bay area to chase giant Rainbows, Salmon and Char. SQ2 would be ideal for that.

3. Much easier to switch from floats to wheels with the SQ2.

4. I could easily land my turf strip with the SQ2 on floats, and I think even take off on floats. Not that I would do that of course.

Oh, and David you're not helping either talking about cutting in a float pond at your place, unless of course you are willing to come up here and cut one in for me. ...

Seems like a float pond could kill two birds with one stone...
you could stock it with bass & trout for some backyard fishing.

I can just imagine all the "birds of prey" that will be dropping in for a feed of fresh trout.
