Mountain Flying

Great day for Mountain flying, very stable and smooth calm wind, clouds give a nice atmosphere, much better in real life than video :)
Its very pretty countryside!

Re: Mountain Flying

Not much better than a good day flying in the mountains... if I wasn't such a night owl I'd get up early and into the mountains far more often. The last real good mountain flight I did was to Leadville with my pops... I had a 60-70mph tailwind through Westin pass on the way back  Wasn't really through it as I was at ~15,500 hoping to avoid some turbulence which we thankfully did and to give plenty of room to work if that strong wind found a way to pull us downwards... anyway, I'm 25 miles from the Rockies, where I live is pretty flat and boring, but having the mountains that close has made for some good adventures. Good video =D>

Re: Mountain Flying

I am getting SO anxious to get up in the mountains! It's been since March 14th since I last flew, and "I feel the need for speed"--even at 115 knots, that's better than driving. And I do love getting into the mountains, something not all that many pilots get to do.

Re: Mountain Flying

It's amazing the temperature in Portland is 80F (as I type) and the Cascades have snow. Wild!

Nice video.
