Robert,

You may already know this but in case you dont, the 65 (I’m pretty sure that is the correct year) and new are 4 inches wider in the cabin which may be a factor or may not. 182’s are generally more capable than most of the pilots flying them. 182’s are fantastic airplanes!

"Wide Body" (4" wider cabin and "Omnivision" rear window) 182 start in 1962 with the E model, which is what I have. It is a very capable, fun, and comfortable airplane.
