Katama on the Vineyard is probably the best grass strip in the Northeast. You step out into the 30's... 3 rwys and well worth a visit. Pilots can call ahead to the restaurant and get preferred seating. You can also taxi to the beach for a day in the ocean.

Curious if Uber is available there, or for that matter any other remote/rural places.
I live in rural western Washington and Uber is not available here, at least none with any consistency.
We only have like one or two taxicabs in Port Townsend and I understand there's often a substantial wait time involved with getting one,
so Uber would really come in handy.

No Uber up here (North Creek, NY). I believe the closest is Albany - maybe Glens Falls. For those of you familiar with the area, i wouldn't be surprised to see it in Lake George at some point though. Not sure if there is enough people to make it work. Our "Local" taxi service is 20 miles away.

According to those novels, there's at least one airstrip on the Vineyard.
Is that a good place to fly in to?
From what I've heard, it sounds like Cape Cod and MV are both mobbed with tourists in the summertime.

Yes, Katama has a restaurant. Cool airport as well - three grass runways of decent length.
