Notch Peak Video - Awesome day hike

So really, you could land at Ibex and then bike up to Notch Peak trail head, but it would be about a 30 to 40 mile bike ride. We flew into Ely Nevada and rented a car. Turns out we should have rented an SUV.

Anyway, Notch Peak in Utah is an awesome hike and has the second biggest cliff in North America after El Capitan. Who knew?

Great video, great music (one of my favorites) but you'd lever get me up there. Scared the hell out of me watching you climb and than being on the edge.

Nice work, thanks for sharing. Bought our plane in Ely a few months back. I liked the airport and the folks around there.

Don't know if you used Kelsey's guidebook but the stories and history of Ibex and Jack Watson are awesome. Cool country-

Re: Notch Peak Video - Awesome day hike

I took my 14 year old scouts up notch peak 2 years ago. My 9 and 7 year old sons went with us. It is definitely a very cool hike and amazing views from the top.

If your camping, on the west side of the peak is a place called Painter Springs which is amazing. Two large springs feeding a grove of cottonwoods up in a canyon that is not visible from the road. Definitely an oasis in the desert.

Great video - AGAIN, I should say, after looking at some of the ones you've posted on Vimeo! That Centurion is a family-moving machine (c:

Re: Notch Peak Video - Awesome day hike

Slightly OT, but I was wondering if you could post some information on the forum about your motorized wing mount for the GoPro?

I combed through your website, but I could only find the one pic of the mount. Some of the panning shots you've gotten with that are really cool!

I'll check that one out. I do have some of his other guidebooks. That guy must spend every day in a canyon. It is unbelievable how much he must have done to get that much info into the guidebooks.

Fabulous composite subject video! Thanks for posting it. Our dog is too old to make the hike now, but in her prime she would have loved that adventure. We still take her with us when we fly, but I had to build a ramp for her to get in and out of the plane.

Man, that video is crisp on my newer computer, shit, stunning clarity. You sure those aren't mountain goats dressed up like dogs, they sure can climb!. Looks like a good place for a wing suit.

Some friends have taken wing suits off Notch Peak. It's about a 30 second ride off the top
