Re: Official JC-2012 Pics & Video Thread! -LETS SEE EM!!-

I got some Wilga footage Corey. I'll dig it up and get it to you.

Here's a little video I put together to show my non-flying friends what JC looks like on taxi, takeoff, and approach. The video doesn't do it justice, but it at least gives them an idea.

For any of you who haven't been lucky enough to fly into JC, it's like an emerald cathedral!

Nice movie! Never made it to JC yet... but now I have a better feel for why it should be on the list.
Thanks for posting.

Flying is dangerous. If you think otherwise, you are new at this sport. Mind the gravity not the gap.

The Owyhee Reservoir strip is a really neat place, somewhere I've always wanted to check out. The strip its self is in decent shape. It has some smaller sized rocks that litter the strip and its a little dished out in the center in some sections. There is also no line of site between runway ends, the strip rises and falls a couple times throughout its length. Taxi down the dirt taxiway on the north side of the strip and it leads to the "Owyhee Hilton". Pilots have left food, water, and other supplies inside. There's also a wood burning stove if you're there in the winter. The front porch is nice to sit on in the shade and looks out over the reservoir. We ended up not even setting up our tent and just slept inside on the metal spring bed frames that someone has left there.
