That was a scary story with a reasonably happy ending. I didn't know the Hueys had that much lifting capacity. Thanks for sharing. I'll stick to wheels. They challenge me enough!

Count yourself fortunate if you didn't have reason to know that! As a matter of fact, they'll pick up a big-engine '76 J model on floats pretty handily also.

Good job.
The Army wanted its Utility Helicopter, UH, models to be able to lift a a stripped down same model.
Of course the Cargo Helicopter, CH, models could haul much more than another of their own weight.
