Proof of Life—A sneak peek at the next long form BCP video

Since moving to Minnesota, I've had the opportunity to shoot some really fun footage, both floats and skis. I fell in with a few locals who've given me some great fodder for the camera(s). The weakest link in the chain for getting some new content out is...me. Over the years I got too into my own head, and the editing, or rather, carving the story out of a mass of footage, became a real stumbling block and bottleneck. I convinced myself of quality over quantity so I kinda just stopped creating altogether, and focused on music, oddly. My synthesizer & guitar collection started growing. With no plane to fly, it's easier to look elsewhere, like quitting an old flame.

The blockage still remains, but I have big plans and need a kick in the pants. In a couple weeks, I'm going on a float flying trip with several guys and the plan is to film...a lot. To get those guys excited, I cut together two of my favorite shots from the last 2 seasons—my local buddies who fly a PA-18 and an Aeronca Chief. It's hosted on my secondary Youtube channel, Bad Axe Lens, an experimental video & drone channel, where less pressure exists because...I have no subscribers at all. Enjoy.

That 1:52 of footage is absolutely gorgeous and really captures that primal essence of float flying.
Eagerly awaiting your short film!

I'm actually working on two different projects simultaneously. Both float adventures.

That clip seems to play unusually fast or is it some in my playback settings that are messed up maybe.

Plays normal for me. He was kinda carrying a little extra airspeed as the wind was straight on the nose and there was a strange little shear occurring as you popped out of the river mouth onto open water.
