Yes, the rear seat modification using tracks is labor intensive but well worth it for the added utility, comfort and performance gain if utilized correctly. If interested, PM me and I shall provide photos and my approval basis.

Curious just which track-mounted rear seats you have?
And was it done via field approval?
I believe Kenmore has an STC to install 206 rear seats in a 180/185.

170 seats and tracks in second row of 180H, Field Approval.
Biologist sat in back for 7 hours straight, no complaints. Only negative was, he did not want to get back in the Cub.

I would consider a single Atlee Dodge or Lakeview single seat. I've rarely needed both, but you might in a 182.

Not sure if Airglass make a 182 extended baggage but their glasswork is FAR superior to Selkirk.

Re easily removed rear seats..
I have BAS (now Lakevue), others I know have Atlee Dodge.
Both are expensive, and not esp comfortable.
But very handy as you can leave them installed but stowed.
As someone pointed out, the Lakevue seats are less expensive,
but you do have to buy some additional seatbelt attach stuff.
Whereas the Dodge seats come with that.

No doubt in my mind that the stock bench seat is way more comfortable.
I modified the rear seat in my old C170 by replacing the bolts that held the back to the bench with clevis pins, clip end out.
That way, you can remove the seat back first, then unbolt & remove the bench--
way easier & quicker, plus you're less likely to damage the interior with the pokey parts of the seat.

A friend of mine did the same to the bench in his 180,
then stripped off all the fabric, horsehair, springs, etc and covered the back & bench with ceconite (similar to the BAS seats).
Then had his wife sew up a pad that covered the bottom.
Pretty comfy, as well as lighter & easier to remove & replace when necessary.
Stock seat belts attach to the bench, so they go in & out along with the bench.
