tail pipe extension 182h
Lycoming, Continental, Hartzell, McCauley, or any broad spectrum drive system component used on multiple type.
Was wondering if there is such thing or not?Would like to extend it about 3 to 4in.Was also wondering if there is a issue by doing so.Mine seems to be the oval shape.Cant see to find any in that config.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the purpose of the tailpipe extension?

Mine barely exits the bottom of the cowl.I thought it might help the cleanliness of the cowl and flap.

I got one from kenmore some years ago. It's not legit but . . . . it keeps the soot off the cowl flap and rt gear spring.
You can put a floatplane muffler on a 182. It has a longer pipe with a gusset for the added slipstream drag.

And it comes with the added benefit of having "street cred"...
