Re: Talkeetna in July

The 170 is already up there, it's sitting on the east ramp in front of Northland in Fairbanks. Looks like your project is moving along quite nicely and should be quite the ultimate 170!

If you don't find me at airport at TAT, I'll be camped in my trailer behind TATs' Art studio downtown.

Man, I'm getting so excited!

Scolopax, we're hoping to leave here on June 26th. I'm guessing we'll be coming through Talkeetna towards the end of the first week in July, but our plans are pretty loose. It would be a lot of fun to caravan for at least part of the way, but we might be stopping more frequently through Canada than you might want to, depending on your time frame.

Looking forward to meeting some of you guys up there!

Re: Talkeetna in July

I am SO jealous!

My very first cross country flight after getting my private was in a 150 with Wife 1 to Talkeetna, for a pancake breakfast/lunch. A bunch of us from the Elmendorf Aeroclub flew up there. Don't recall who put it on. We landed at the airport, and later we walked over to the village strip--which of course looked incredibly small to all us newbies. The main airport wasn't paved at the time, but it was at least twice as long as the village strip.

Golleeee, that was a long time ago!

Let's try to connect Oregon 180. How long will your trip be? I will not be departing until mid July, so maybe we can meet up right when I get to AK. I am also considering more time in Canada as well, as last time we blasted through Canada as fast as we could. I'm planning on being in a hurry nowhere over the course of my adventure.
