EZ, we'll be doing a resto on the fuselage soon. Will be looking for a new fuselage to build up so we can keep flying. The current fuselage is pretty haggard, but the struts and wings are (like) new!

Re: Taylorcraft Forum

Hey y’all. Have to try and revive this old thread. Long time BCP lurker but never created an account until now. I’ll be selling my pa-28-140 this weekend so I can purchase a local taylorcraft with low time and sealed struts as well as an old satloc ag gps currently installed. I’m currently on my way to get my restricted commercial so I can become an ag pilot.

Although I can find some info on BCP and a couple other websites, I really want to get into the taylorcraft forum. When I try to sign up, it says the reCaptcha bot software isn’t working and isn’t even letting me register. I sent an email to an admin 5 days ago but I haven’t gotten a response. Are any of you guys on that forum that would be able to help me out?

Thanks in advance

Re: Taylorcraft Forum

Check the Taylorcraft Facebook group, it's a lot more active. I know there are people on FB that are also on the Tcraft forum.

I always find this a shame, because Facebook is sucking the life out of standalone communities. However, it's hard to deny it works when owners/admins of sites aren't able to keep up on maintenance. #-o

The long term effect though will be that valuable information is not archived in a useable format, in lieu of the standard ephemeral social media experience.

Of course it seems self-serving, but I encourage everyone to post useful knowledge here, and even mark it for inclusion in a Knowledge Base article in order to preserve it for posterity.

Re: Taylorcraft Forum

Hey all,
Although I’ve read through this forum for hours and hours, this is my first post. I look forward to becoming a valued contributor once I find the right plane at the right price and start flying again after a hiatus.
However, in the meantime, I have to ask a favor. I am also trying to sign up for the Taylorcraft forum and it’s telling me “Admin has disabled new membership” and now I can’t even read the forum without a login name, which I can’t get without Admins permission.
Can someone please help?
Although I’ve gone this far without creating a Facebook profile, I may have to specifically for the ability for communicate with other TCraft owners... kinda sad.

Thank you all for the valuable conversation, information and experience. I really enjoy this forum.

Re: Taylorcraft Forum

Ziggy, the Tcraft forum (vb.taylorcraft.org) got hacked not too long ago, and Bob put it in lockdown for new members until he gets things sorted out. I'll see what I can do for you. Glad to hear you're trying to get a Tcraft. I'm not that far from you (Marion, MT, between LIbby and Kalispell). Shoot me a pm with your email and I'll try to get it to the right people there and get you going.
Flatlander42, shoot me a pm and I'll get your info there too. Hopefully that will get you on there. The faceplant group is active, but no where near as good as the stand alone site!!
Zzz, I totally agree that it's a shame to see it suck the lifeblood out of groups and definitely information is lost at an alarming rate!!!

Re: Taylorcraft Forum

Thank you everyone for the swift replies!

I was able to get into the Taylorcraft Facebook group, so that's a start. If hardtailjohn is able to get us into the tcraft forum website, we'll be all set! =D>

I submitted your emails to the guy in charge of the forum. Hopefully that doesn't get you permanently banned.

Re: Taylorcraft Forum

Thank you for that information, I've also been trying to get on the site with no success. It's good to know it wasn't operator error!

Re: Taylorcraft Forum

Hope it works out. When I Google “Taylorcraft Forum” the only things that come up are this thread and the Taylorcraft Foundation. May have to bite the bullet and start a Facebook account.
Thanks

Re: Taylorcraft Forum

Ziggy, I was just gonna come on and ask if you'd gotten any results. I'll go stir things up again. The "foundation" is dead, has been dead for quite some time, and in fact, never really was very "alive"! Basically it was supposed to be support, but never quite made it.

Haven’t heard back yet from the taylorcraft forum yet.
Hopefully someone who runs the site is still active!

Re: Taylorcraft Forum

I just got a message from Bob at the vb.taylorcraft.org, and he said he thinks he found the "glitch" and for you guys to try again!! If it wont work, let me know and I'll holler at him again. It is by FAR the biggest cache of knowledge and information on the Tcraft anywhere!

Re: Taylorcraft Forum

Keep trying to get in. The Taylorcraft forum, while not nearly as active as say BCP, is a wealth of Taylorcraft specific info and there are a lot of knowledgeable people that are active. It was a huge help for me when I first got my t-craft and again last year when I did the c85 upgrade. The Facebook page is ok but nothing is archived. I hate that it competes with the forum as the forum is such a better method to store and catalog the information.
