Does anyone know of a more modern stall warning system that replaces the older style stall vane, red light and horn of yesteryear ?

Many of the digital ADI's offer an AOA indicator but is there anything that replace the wing mounted vane ?

As we all know, a stall doesn't happen because we are too slow, it happens because a critical angle of attack has been exceeded. It's hard to beat the mechanical simplicity of a wing mounted vane to provide appropriate warning. It is important to bend that vane just right so it warns of an imminent stall, rather than stating the obvious - that the plane is already stalled. I suppose the vane could be replaced with an electronic do-dad that measures differential pressure over some critically mounted tube, but that would involve more electronics and I wouldn't trust it to work when needed. Properly adjusted AOA indicators are a good backup to the wing mounted stall vane, but again, an old and simple solution is sometimes the best. The effectiveness and simplicity of the wing mounted vane might be why nothing has come along to replace it...

I have no experience or knowledge of the gadget other than it exists. I have a CYA-100 vane style AoA and quite like it, but they’re no longer in production. As far as I know this is the closest thing to the CYA currently available.
