The Best of 2013 - Year In Review

It's hard to believe this year is already wrapping up.

I wanted to create a best of 2013 picture / video thread, so post up a few of your favorite pics/vids or memories. We are a lucky bunch and it's good to reflect on the last 365 days.

I'll start.

It's been a good year for sure, even though I only flew as PIC a few times in a rental in Jan-Mar and then bummed rides at Caveman....haven't flown since other than as pax in smokers back and forth to LAX.

That all looks pretty organized for something that disorganized. I assume that's burning man. Where's the airstrip?

The very middle of the "C" is 12:00. If you look into the distance at about 5:00 it's out there a ways. It's about a mile from the edge of the city to the airport. Trust me, its anything but disorganized.

Welcoming Amelia into my family was the best thing to happen to me last year. Coincidentally, she was born on Amelia Earhart's birthday.

This was taken last week at the Monterey Bay aquarium.

A few of my favorites from 2013. The first in an area riddled with natural rock arches, including the biggest one in Idaho, this was one of the landings I made when looking for that arch.Image After finding that big arch, note plane centered in background, that took some planning!Image Lastly, at 10,500' somewhere in WyomingImage

I hate to ask this, but how does one post photos in a thread? I can get them to my albums, but can't figure out how to post in a thread...

If you open the image in a window, right click on it and you should get an option to copy the image URL. Then, when you are posting, there is a little spot on the black bar above the text entry box that says "Img"...if you click on that it inserts text looking like:

"" and puts your cursor in between the brackets where I typed 'and'. If you right click and choose paste, it will paste the URL in that spot. If you want to keep typing, you need to move your cursor out from inside the brackets.

Caveat, I host my photos in FB or Flickr, so not sure if there are any other surprises with photos hosted here...but that's how I do it.

Re: The Best of 2013 - Year In Review

Had a great year, but here are my three favorite memories...

First, stopped with my son in my hometown on the long voyage to Alaska with our new (to us) airplane.
Image

Second, another flight with my son, stopped to visit campers at a backcountry strip.
Image

Finally, took my daughter out for a flight...or maybe she took me for a flight...
