What would be the most likely leading cause for a glazed cylinder wall, would an overheating condition present in such a manner ?

Low cylinder pressures during initial break-in period of a newly honed cylinder and new rings. According to Continental if you don't run it hard enough to break in and seat the rings, the cylinder walls will glaze and the only fix is to remove and re-hone and install new rings.

This. High pressure is needed to “force” the rings into cylinder wall for good score.
Additionally, oil additives may also contribute to glazing. Shell 100 even if you are replacing just 1 cylinder.

x3. Make sure you are using mineral oil for the entire break in. Even if its just one cylinder.
