Awesome build Tom. Looking forward to seeing her in person and flying together.

Re: Tom's Supercub Restoration

Well I got the right wing back together and a couple friends came down and helped me cover it. We were working a lot from Thursday night to this morning and were able to get it covered, stitched and taped. I didn't get many pics.

I also got both flaps and the right aileron put back together and ready for cover. Trying to get the tail feathers blasted this week and we are starting on the weld on mods on the fuse.

Re: Tom's Supercub Restoration

Oh boy, I'm a little bit behind. I ended up moving home from Texas in the middle of the project. Shipped my blazer home and loaded up a pensky truck.

Made the interior panels for the extended baggage

Covered the gear

Sand blasted the fuselage. That was fun

Primed, painted, and painted the black on the fuselage

Red on the other wing

Finally covering the fuselage, new cables, new headerless fuel system, upper baggage

Nice and tight

Sense I've moved home I've opened up my own shop and I have been out straight, so the cub project has been slow. Getting after the cub now, I can't stand it flying it anymore. It will be done by the end of the year.

Re: Tom's Supercub Restoration

Looking great Tom.

I know the too busy feeling. I haven't even touched the 206 since getting it home. Hoped to work on it this winter but now I have a Scout to recover... helps pay the bills, but sure doesn't help the 206 get in the air!

Re: Tom's Supercub Restoration

One of these days I’ll update the rest, but flew the cub for the first time in 2 years and 2 months. Third landing was on the river.

Re: Tom's Supercub Restoration

Congrats on finishing your cub rebuild. Looks like a beauty. Given the nature of the beginning of this thread and your focus on weight savings, were you able to keep it under 1,100 pounds with the extended baggage and 35s?
