Took my first passenger up as a private pilot today

The weather and my schedule have not meshed well for the last couple of months, but today clear sunny skies, calm winds, and a sunday morning worked together to allow me to rent a 152 from Hillsboro and take my son for a flight. It was just a quick trip from KHIO to KMMV and back, but I got in a few touch and go's at KMMV and got to land on 13R at KHIO (haven't done that before). Nothing special about the flight, but it was my son's first flight in a small airplane and my first-ever passenger. He had a great time, looking forward to more!

Congratulations! I hope he stays interested. It's something you may have to work at, but it'll pay off later. Short trips with an attraction at the destination will keep him coming back for more!

Great stuff. My wife was my first passenger. I remember that wonder flight more than my check ride or my first solo.

Brother that ear to ear grin says it all!

Took my daughter up for the first time when I had about 450 hours. I was never so nervous in my life. Precious cargo! It was then when I realized I knew vary little about flying. She still asks when I am going to teach her how to fly. One more year on her masters then I will get her flying.

I think introducing a youth to flying, wether its your own or not, is a valuable contribution to their grown regardless of wether they choose to pursue flying or not.

Keep with it and pass along!

That's not just a first passenger, that's a bonding experience. Keep it fun for them. I soured my kids on airplanes by taking them on un-fun flights where they got sick in the bumps or I was talking to center the whole time.

Congrats on taking up your son and first passenger! That's a huge sense of accomplishment.

Keep picking those clear, calm days and let him take the stick every now and then, and you'll be flying buddies for life.

What you mean "nothing special about the flight"? Your first passenger and your sons first flight with you? Dude, that is a most special flight!!
The memories are just beginning. Keep it up!!
