1. Have a STA (security threat assessment) completed and badge issued.
2. Be escorted by someone who has been through an STA and badge issued.
I can barely believe what the TSA folks were telling me. Each airport must conduct it's own STA's and they are not valid for other airports. So if you wanted to get self serve fuel somewhere that has commercial service after hours you would be in violation. No federal funds have been allocated to complete this mandate. If allowed to continue this may well be the end of GA as we know it. Here is aopa's link, be advised that it has some inconsistencies with the TSA folks at the meeting.

Looks like were getting it at Boulder City,NV. with all the commercial operators taking little folks out to the canyon .Think I'll move my hanger
over to the ultralight strip to get away from that crap. I've got another place in Northern AZ. where I can put up another hanger. I already have a"stinking badge" ------ tsa puke ! Put a sky marshal on every flight -here we go. Of course this is done for "security" ---not, more like control !
The reason I fly my own airplane is so I don't have to put with all the B.S.
they pass out on the airlines. I don't want another 9/11 but lets get real here when was the last time you saw a Cessna 150 crash into a object -
object- 1 Cessna -0 .
I got another Idea arm EVERY flight > When you check in at airline-x you'll
be ask if your a U.S. military Veteran(this should be checked to see if they are or not U.S. Military Veteran=computers are a wonderful thing) and would you mind helping flight crew to it's destination ? Then give your "volunteer " a side arm to help keep the bad guys from taking over -maybe 4-10 per flight (depending on how many passengers)scatter them around the cabin . Couple of bullets( or stun guns) a piece should do the trick. I'd go with men say over 40 years old. Any Military Uniformed personnel would automatically thrown in to the "security" effort. Guns would be issued by the captain and locked in a safe when not in use. Be turned in when flight reaches it's destination.
