Went off and done it...

After two years of attempts, poor timing, saving, close calls and near misses, the missus and I went and got a plane :)

...although, actually, 'went' is misnomer. The plan was to go get a plane in the states this summer...then we caught word that an absolutely lovely 152 was coming up for sale in our neck of the woods.

A week later (which was last week) I was running to the bank after work on Monday, and yesterday we did a fun little 2.5 hour loop of mountain & beach buzzing.

Now we get to stop saving and start throwing money into the avgas/oil/maintenance hole, and we're pretty happy about that :)

Nice plane, I'm sure you will enjoy it! Hard to beat the $$ vs fun with a 152 and it'll get you 90% of the places a 180 will :D

Re: Went off and done it...

Congrats! Welcome to the joys of ownership!

I only have a few hours in a 152, but I learned to fly in 150s in Anchorage, wa-a-a-a-ay back when. Fun times.
