What's on your current playlist?

I just stumbled onto a new-to-me playlist on Spotify called "Sun Records - 60 years, 60 singles."

It's got old Cash, Little Jr. Parker, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, and a bunch of others.

What are ya'll listening to right now? (or earlier today)

I've been hung up on JJ Grey, and anything and everything from Jack White for the past few years. Everything both of those guys do is great.

Some good stuff on here!

I'm up late working on a take-home exam. Blah.

Change of playlist. Now I've got the Steeldrivers driving along in the background. Just saw these guys play at the Ryman two weeks ago:

I grew up in the Ozarks when all but Johnny Cash and Elvis sang through their noses. I have a tin ear, so it doesn't matter. My wife is a professional quality singer. I sang in church until the second year at our marriage. One Sunday she whispered in my ear, "Just move your lips."

Nice to see Kool and the Gang here though. Bananaramma?

The song Cruel Summer was perfect for S.E. Alaska this Summer. My wife was at work while I was exploring. She liked the analogy ( I think ).

When beating metal into submission I listen to Pantera and dimebag Darrel. When I feel overwhelmed building my homebuilt I listen to one piece at a time by Johnny Cash. That's how he built the psychobilly caddillac. Keeps me making parts.

It takes a big man to cry. But it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

That was pretty good!

Back to finishing that take home exam. I'm rocking a "Glenn Miller and Friends" playlist someone put together on Spotify. It's got Miller, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey, Bing Crosby, Duke Ellington, etc.

It's got my current favorite song:

Duke Ellington's "I Like the Sunrise" sung by Al Hibbler

I had a Thelonious Monk channel on Pandora I would listen to while studying in college, nothing was better for helping me concentrate.
