Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Where did you fly today?

Nice! Good for you. I'm going two weeks since I've flown and am starting to get grumpy. I was supposed to go today, but my new audio panel has a bug...[emoji53]

Nice! Some pretty tough cows to make it in that country. No country for old men, or old cows.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Story is, this is a smugglers plane that crashed in the 60-70's. They ran out of gas at night and somehow survived; stashed the dope, then torched the plane. Been meaning to get a pic of it for years, finally did today.

Speaking of "No Country For Old Men," this shed was part of the movie set on a friends place. Around the corner is also where they shoot the antelope in the beginning of the movie, where he finds all the cash etc. The picture is from last Christmas Day I think.

Is that the Barry Corbin "Ellis" scene? "How'd you know it was my truck?"
"I deduced it when you walked in"
Pretty cool.
I've visited greater Terrell county a few times on a buddy's hunting lease north of Dryden. That country has its own beauty. If anyone wants a better feel for illegal immigration should spend a week down there. We'd always find the gravity water lines busted and stuffed with plastic shopping bags from where they'd fill up on water moving through. You don't leave anything out, assembled, or unlocked that you didn't want used or taken.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Another evening of traffic patterns!

I had a friend ask me to take him flying after work today so we bounced around a smaller local airport for a while. It was fun and he had a good time. No pics though.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Guess what? That's right, another 1.2 of pattern work. It was a really nice day and I had nowhere to go but I wanted to do some flying!

I've got the day off today and I'm planning to go flying and actually leave the pattern today!

Re: Where did you fly today?

Perfect weekend back here. Light winds and 45-50 degrees. Visited some friends out ice fishing with their kids and then up to the house to give some rides.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Yep, that's the ol' homestead. This is on a north east bay of Lake Edna. The Cub can live here on floats,

but my folks have an even better sheltered spot on the Gull chain, so I keep it there in the summer.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Very nice! I always enjoy your photos. I live in sw Michigan now and would love to have a place up north on the lake. As a kid I was lucky to grow up on a lake with a float plane in the back yard. My grandfather grew up in Cook Mn and in 2002 I visited the area while flying my Stearman from Washington to New Hampshire. I got to drive out to the farm where he grew up, that was very special for me. Hopefully I can fly my Husky up your way this summer for some more exploring.

Anyway, enough rambling, I love your pictures and captions, keep em coming!
