Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Re: Where did you fly today?

Great time flying this weekend.

Saturday morning went out with Greg (soyAnarchisto), Alex (Felix), Matt (mountainmatt), and Alec(dont know if he's on here) in their 180's.

Sunday night went and got some IFR currency doing approaches in the area in the rental 172.

One of Matt's friend's trike. He just happened to be taking off from his strip when we overflew - it was pretty neat.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Went out for a quick rip on Saturday. Just long enough to get the oil good and hot for an oil change after getting my rudder back together. Had to stay low as 800' AGL I started picking up ice.

Was a quick flight, but good to be back up after a month of being ground bound!

Thanks Rob. It wasn't too much work, just a bit time consuming with painting and stuff. We don't have a good paint booth at the hangar, so we try not to spray unless we won't be there for a few days. So that extends projects that aren't priority. But all is well, and I will deliver it to its new owner on Saturday I hope.

Kurt, someone wanted it more then me and was willing to pay for it. I'm also looking for a wreck to rebuild the way that I want my forever plane to be. I hate parking a good plane to tear it apart, and would rather find a wrecked candidate to build up. This route will also be good for getting my AME license, as the experience and time would be great.

So if anyone knows of a 64-68 180 that needs rebuilding...

Ahhh, ok David, sounds like a good plan! Good luck in your search, I hope you are not "grounded" too long.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Well, no pictures, but I realized this week that it'd been over a month since I'd flown last. Between bad weather, getting real sick, and busy work days I hadn't even thought about going to the hangar.

Today I didn't have anything going on and we had 1500' ceilings so I decided to go up and run a couple of patterns until I got tired of it.

Ended up doing 1.3 of left closed and only stopped because my wife called and needed me at the house.

It was very nice to get back up in my airplane!

Re: Where did you fly today?

On a roll, flew my plane this week as well. Had some time after work so back at the patterns I went! Turned into another 1.3, and now I'm fresh up on day and night currency again. Going to keep trying to do this every week I'm home - if I've got nowhere to go, just stay and do patterns.

Some pics, but they're not great.
