Where you guys buying your type A-2 sealant?

Well, the difficult business of buying airplane parts just became even more difficult as Aviall closed the branch near me. For years I was able to will-call items and it was super convenient. No shipping costs or hazmat fees. Yeah, Aviall was expensive and became even more so after Boeing bought them. Now, I cannot find the A-2 sealant. Aviall also was my source for MEK.

Aircraft Spruce carries both sealant and MEK.

If your close to a Cessna, Bombardiair, or other service center they will sell you sealants over the counter. One near me is also happy to offload sealant that is a few days expired. This is used for sealing my rain gutters, of course.
You might also consider using MPK or Acetone as an alternative to MEK. They work almost as good while being somewhat better to your organs.

At least in OK, Lowes sells MEK.

The Cessna service center on the field only uses B2. Looks like Skygeek has A2.

Yeah, we are actively trying to move out of Kommiemexafornia to the United States. MEK is only one of many items that can no longer be purchased here.

It must be nice owning a Citation in California. Apparently it’s the only state in the union where fuel leaks have been outlawed....
